|Scope & Content||Accession consists of three signed, original framed prints, one by Pearl Maas, the other two by B.W. Banks. The first is a framed lithographic print of the William Nevard house by local artist Pearl Maas. Handwritten text at bottom of print reads: 6/12 Wm. Nevard House Chilliwack (1894) Pearl Maas [36 cm x 47 cm image / 55 x 65 cm frame]; The two smaller handcoloured italigio prints are by B.W. Banks. One shows a view of Mt. Cheam, and the other a front view of the City Hall / Museum. Mt. Cheam - Upper Fraser Valley - B.C. Hand coloured print 3/50 BWB appears handwritten in pencil below one print. |Admin/Biographical History||The husband of Pearl Maas worked at the research station in Agassiz. Pearl is now living in Sydney on Vancouver Island. The donor has lived here for 22 years, and is a friend of the Maas family. The two smaller prints by B.W. Banks were given to the donor as a gift upon leaving her job at the District of Chilliwack in 1988. During her 3-4 years of work for the District, she worked mostly as a receptionist in the police and tax departments.|
Framed print of Nevard house given to donor by Larry Maas, son of the artist, around 1999. The artist was 83 years old at the time donor received the print. The print was given to the donor as a thank-you gift. The two framed prints by B.W. Banks given to the donor as a gift upon leaving her job at the District of Chilliwack in 1988.
