Scope & Content Accession consists of 2 large framed photograph prints, showing: a line of trucks loaded with milk cans in front of the Sardis plant of the Fraser Valley Milks Producers Association, 1925-1928 [ 5 cm x 54 cm x 84 cm] ; and a Fraser River steam powered sternwheeler loaded with Orangemen from Chilliwack, leaving on an excursion to New Westminster, 1912 [5 cm x 54 cm x 94 cm].
Creator Miller, Keith
Admin/Biographical History Keith Miller started work in the Sardis, FVMPA plant in 1952-1958, first doing receiving then working in the cottage cheese department. From there he went to driving tanker trucks for 5 years, 1958-1963, spent 14 years as an assistant supervisor 1967-1980, then to the head office, Spirling Avenue, Burnaby. He worked at the Delair Plant, Abbotsford, Managing tank truck operations (60 drivers) from 1980-1990. He was the regional transportation manager 1990-1992/93 at the Spirling Plant, Burnaby. Manager of Transportation & logistics 1993-1999. In total he spent 46.5 years in the dairy industry.
Archival History These images used to hang in the 8th Avenue building of the Standard Milk Company, forerunner to the Fraser Valley Milk Producers Association. They later hung in the hallway at the FVMPA / Dairyland plant on Spirling Avenue in Burnaby, B.C.
