Loving Cup
With two flat styled handles; attached to wooden base, stained dark brown, five shield shapes nailed to base; "Chilliwack / Agricultural Association / Special Prize / Best Boar and Two Sows / (Any
Breed 2 Years Old or Over) / Donated By W.C. Mainwaring" and on plaques around base: "G.W. & J.W. Shannon / 1937" - "G.W. & J.W. Shannon / 1938" - Count / A.F. Van Rechteren / 1939" - "R.A. Coleman / 1940" - "McClughan Bros. / 1941" and on base 1733.
Provenance Loving cup presented to the Chilliwack Agricultural Association by W.C. Mainwaring, as a special prize for the best boar and two sows, of any breed two years old or over. The cup was won by G.W. & J.W. Shannon in 1937 and 1938. In 1939 by Count A.F. Van Rechteren and in 1940 by R.A. Coleman. In 1941 it was won by the McClughan Brothers.
