He acquired a farm in Sardis on Evans Road in 1925 which became the centre for the company's Fraser Valley operations. Upon the death of John Haas his son Fred took over the business and by the late 1950s the company was the only remaining hop company in the local area. In all the Haas Company owned 1325 acres of hops having acquired the Hulbert Hop Co. in 1944, Canadian Hop Holdings in 1953, the B.C. Hop Company in 1954 and Henry Ord's business in 1957. Fred Haas died in 1991. The last hops were grown on the site in 1997 at which time the farms were sold.
