Steel helmet with fabric netting surrounding; fabric chin strap; fabric fitting for head.
Mk II helmet belonging to Acting Captain John Trelawney "Scud" Scudamore, a Chilliwack boy who was killed in action in November 1944 during World War II. His parents were Rev. and Mrs. H. B. Scudamore, who ran St. John's Parish starting in 1937. The donor was given this helmet by "Scud" when she was six years-old as a gift.
Similar in basic appearance to its Great War counterpart, the Mk II helmet was made of better grade steel. A web chinstrap and rubberized liner had replaced the leather and oilskin liners of the earlier Mk I.
