Description

This fonds consists of material derived from a photo album of Wally Guenther and his horse Pinky from 1945 to 1954. The photo album contained newspaper clippings, 17 black and white photographs of Pinky, Pinky and Wally, Pinky and Rita Guenther, and Pinky performing in competitions. It also contained 1 certificate of achivement from 1946, and 54 prize ribbons from horseshows across BC and Alberta.
Photocopies of the photo album pages were made in order to maintain the context of the material, while the certificate, photographs, and prize ribbons were removed from the degrading nature of the old album book and placed in acid-free envelopes.

Provenance

THis photo album belogned to Wally Guenther, who was born in 1927. He lived in Chilliwack throughout his life, and he was known for hi competitive horse jumping with his hourse Pinky from the late 40s to early 50s. The album passed to his son, RIck, when he passed in 2017.
