The budget for the games was two million dollars, with half being paid for by sponsors, and half being paid for by donations. A handful of Chilliwack athletes also earned a place on the podium. The artist Laura Breen Robison was born in Vancouver in 1947. She grew up in Summerland, but spent many years of her adult life living in California and Pennsylvania before eventually settling in Chilliwack. Her art tends to focus on natural landscapes and endangered animal of B.C. She has recieved multiple awards for her work. She prefers to sign her work "BREEN" in order to keep her gender hidden, thus avoiding any gender bias from forming in her audiences. |
