Provenance |
Lucinda Lewis was born in Oxford City, Ontario in 1844. She arrived in Chilliwack in 1866, marrying Jonathan Reece on January 1, 1866. Jonathan Reece was the first European settler to pre-empt and farm land in Chilliwack, starting in 1859. The couple had five children : Willena, who married Jonathan Galloway, Bertha, who married George Marshall, Flora Reece, who married James Bellamy, Edwin Reece, who married Ethel Bearcroft, daughter of William Charles Bearcroft and Hanna James, and Eleanora (Nora), who married Alexander Mercer. Lucinda died in Chilliwack on February 9, 1909 |
