Originally owned by Mrs. Fred Storey. Original museum information indicates that the donor, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Storey, who immigrated to Chilliwack from England in the early 1900s. Mrs. Storey was a nurse in Chilliwack. ______________________________ Notes from Fred Storey Obituary. Progress September 15, 1976, p 10A. Fredrick Charles Storey lived at 208 Corbould Street and died September 12, 1976, aged 82. Born in Manitoba, at the time of his death he had lived in Chilliwack for 69 years [1907]. Served with the Canadian Army during WWII and was a member of the Home Guard in WWII. A retired dairy farmer and member of Branch 4, Royal Canadian Legion. He was survived by his wife, Emily Kate Storey, one daughter, Dorothy Krause and two sons, John, and Andrew. Interred in the IOOF Cemetery. Notes from Emily Kate Storey Obituary. Progress February 9, 1977, p 14A. Lived in Chilliwack for 47 years [1930]. Born at Bristol, England January 27, 1895. A member of LOBA No. 774 and a former member of the Council of Women and a member of the Davis Ford Circle Sr. Mrs. Storey was a registered nurse in England and had worked for the Senior Auxiliary of the Chilliwack General Hospital. She was also a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and a member of the defunct Mother's Union of St. Thomas Church. Interred in the IOOF Cemetery. |
