Isobel Simpson lived in Chilliwack from 1970 - 2005. She came to British Columbia after training as a nurse in Ontario. She worked at Coqualeetza during the Second World War. She later worked as a nurse at Miller Bay hospital located at Prince Rupert. At the age of 24 she was the youngest matron in all of Canada (either in Duncan or Nelson). She worked for the federal government. Moved to Chilliwack, retired after Miller Bay closed. Isobel enjoyed crochet and was a member of the Professional Institute in Vancouver. She also enjoyed going to the opera. Isobel Simpson was born in Kitchener, Ontario in 1918 and died in Chilliwack. |
